    • Special Nomination: «Prize of Hope» 

      In solo nominations: classics (xylophone and snare drum) – up to 9 years (one piece on a xylophone and one on a snare drum: up to 10 minutes)

      Marching drum – up to 14 years

      Vibraphone – up to 10 years

      Marimba – up to 10 years

      Drum set – 10 years

      Multi-percussion and timpani – up to 16 years

      Conditions: In all nominations (classics an exception) one piece up to 7 minutes.

      Organizational fee – on a general basis for all contestants in all categories.

      The application for participation must be sent by April 14, 2019 inclusive.

      Prize fund: Each nomination has one prize-winning place: Diploma- “Prize of Hope” and

      special prize from the sponsors of the competition.

    • I Nomination: «Solo on Orchestral Percussions» (Xylophone and Snare Drum)

      The competition is held in two rounds. Age categories:

      1. 9 – 12 years
        The Program of Competition. The First round Each participant must have his accompanist. If necessary, the Organizing Committee provides a guest accompanist by the contestant.
        Implementation of the competition program of the sound track isn’t permitted. In the absence of (or problems with transportation) needed percussion instruments will provide the Organizing Committee for the harmonization of the necessary instruments to participate in the competition.
        The program of performance and application instruments should be sent before April 14.

        For age categories 9 – 12 years

          1. Two compositions on a xylophone:

          Compulsory composition: S. Prokofev «Tarantella» (download notes)
          One composition for choice:

          One composition on a snare drum (recommended, but not compulsory):

        All works are performed by memory. The program is chosen according to the general musical and professional training level of the participant. Performing on a snare drum and percussion is allowed by reading notes.

        The Program of Competition. The Second Round.

        Three nominees from each age group go to the next round. If the level of all the nominees is high, the jury has the right to choose the additional number of participants.

        Criteria for evaluation The repertoire must be appropriate to the age, individual features artist and best reveal the skills of the playing on the xylophone, snare drum and other percussion instruments orchestra. The competition jury will mark the sound quality, musicality, artistry, and general musical training participant.

      2. 13 – 15 years
        The Program of Competition. The First round Each participant must have his accompanist. If necessary, the Organizing Committee provides a guest accompanist by the contestant.
        Implementation of the competition program of the sound track isn’t permitted. In the absence of (or problems with transportation) needed percussion instruments will provide the Organizing Committee for the harmonization of the necessary instruments to participate in the competition.

When applying to provide copies of documents confirming the age of the participants. Contestants of all age categories represent two (2) compositions (the total duration of no more than 15 minutes).

      The total duration of the execution of the program – no more than 10 minutes in view of entry and exit.
      The program can be executed with notes. Implementation of the competition program of the sound track isn’t permitted.
      In the absence of (or problems with transportation) needed percussion instruments will provide the Organizing Committee for the harmonization of the necessary instruments to participate in the competition.

    • III Nomination: «Marching Percussion Ensemble with Elements of Fashion Show»

      The contest will be held in one round. Age category:

      • 1 category – up to 17 years inclusive;
      • 2 category – from 18 years.

      In each age category is allowed the participation of two teachers (concertmaster and leader of the ensemble or two illustrators) and up to 25% of participants from other age groups. When applying to provide copies of documents confirming the age of the participants. Contestants of all age categories represent two (2) compositions (the total duration of no more than 15 minutes).

      The total duration of the execution of the program for the first category – no more than 10 minutes in view of entry and exit.

      For category 2 – not more than 15 minutes in view of entry and exit.
      The program can be executed with notes. Implementation of the competition program of the sound track isn’t permitted.
      In the absence of (or problems with transportation) needed percussion instruments will provide the Organizing Committee for the harmonization of the necessary instruments to participate in the competition.

    • IV Nomination: «Drums Show (Marching Percussion)»

      The contest will be held in two round. Age category:

      • 1 category – up to 17 years inclusive;
      • 2 category – from 18 years.

      1st round

      Free program up to 6 minutes.

      2nd round

      Number (show) under a pre-selected song.

      Three compositions to choose from:

      • Bruno Mars – That’s What Like
      • Shakira & Freshlyground – Waka Waka
      • Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk

      In each age category is allowed the participation of two teachers (concertmaster and leader of the ensemble or two illustrators) and up to 25% of participants from other age groups. When applying to provide copies of documents confirming the age of the participants. Contestants of all age categories represent two (2) compositions (the total duration of no more than 15 minutes).

      The total duration of the execution of the program for the first category – no more than 10 minutes in view of entry and exit.

      For category 2 – not more than 15 minutes in view of entry and exit.
      The program can be executed with notes. Implementation of the competition program of the sound track isn’t permitted.

    • V Nomination: «Ensembles of Ethnic Percussion and Original Genre»

      The contest will be held in one round. Age category:

      • 1 category – up to 17 years inclusive;
      • 2 category – from 18 years.

      In each age category is allowed the participation of two teachers (concertmaster and leader of the ensemble or two illustrators) and up to 25% of participants from other age groups. When applying to provide copies of documents confirming the age of the participants. Contestants of all age categories represent two (2) compositions (the total duration of no more than 15 minutes).

      The total duration of the execution of the program for the first category – no more than 12 minutes in view of entry and exit.

      For category 2-3-4: not more than 15 minutes in view of entry and exit.
      The program can be executed with notes. Implementation of the competition program of the sound track isn’t permitted.
      In the absence of (or problems with transportation) needed percussion instruments will provide the Organizing Committee for the harmonization of the necessary instruments to participate in the competition.
      The application for the provision of instruments to be sent before April 14.

    • VI Nomination: «Solo on a Drum Kit»

      The competition is held in two rounds. Performing is allowed by reading notes.

      • Age categories:
        • 11 – up to 12 years
          The Program: One compositions in any genre using a soundtrack (phonogram without Drum kit).
          It is allowed to have live accompaniment instead of a soundtrack (keys, bass and rhythm guitar).
          In the second round, Passed into the second round by lot divided in pairs, the performance of two participants (one pair) is held according to the following rules. The moderator sets the theme (the rhythmic reef) and each person must alternately offer a solo composition on the given topic for no more than 1 minute. Only three attempts.
          The application for the provision of instruments, as well as the type of media phonogram must be sent before April 14.
        • 13 – up to 15 years
          The Program: One compositions in any genre using a soundtrack (phonogram without Drum kit).
          It is allowed to have live accompaniment instead of a soundtrack (keys, bass and rhythm guitar).
          In the second round, Passed into the second round by lot divided in pairs, the performance of two participants (one pair) is held according to the following rules. The moderator sets the theme (the rhythmic reef) and each person must alternately offer a solo composition on the given topic for no more than 1 minute. Only three attempts.
          The application for the provision of instruments, as well as the type of media phonogram must be sent before April 14.
        • 16 – up to 19 years
          1. The Program: One compositions in any genre using a soundtrack (phonogram without Drum kit).
            It is allowed to have live accompaniment instead of a soundtrack (keys, bass and rhythm guitar).
            In the second round, Passed into the second round by lot divided in pairs, the performance of two participants (one pair) is held according to the following rules. The moderator sets the theme (the rhythmic reef) and each person must alternately offer a solo composition on the given topic for no more than 1 minute. Only three attempts.
            In the third round, Each participant must in a particular genre play a piece under a live band. Four compositions in four genre formats: jazz, rock, fusion, latino. The draw takes place one hour before the start of the competition. Each participant will be given the opportunity to prepare for the performance by listening to the composition selected during the drawing of lots. In the composition, the participant must necessarily play solo (from 16 to 32 bars), which he negotiates immediately before the performance with the musicians.

            The application for the provision of instruments, as well as the type of media phonogram must be sent before April 14.
        • 20 +
          1. The Program: One compositions in any genre using a soundtrack (phonogram without Drum kit).
            It is allowed to have live accompaniment instead of a soundtrack (keys, bass and rhythm guitar).
            In the second round, Passed into the second round by lot divided in pairs, the performance of two participants (one pair) is held according to the following rules.             In the third round, Each participant must in a particular genre play a piece under a live band. Four compositions in four genre formats: jazz, rock, fusion, latino.       • Each participant to choose one composition performed on timpani (also available in one part of the large-scale works) and one on the multipercussion.No more than 12 minutes of sound.

  • X Nomination: «Snare Drum – solo»
    The competition is held in two rounds. The jury will separately evaluate the use of the elements of the defile of the hands of the contestant during the performance. Performing is allowed by reading notes.
